Night At The Infirmary UPD 2 Patch Notes
UPD 2 — Classes Update (Mechanical Notes)
Note (July 27, 2026): The Roblox listing title now reads [UPD 3] Night At The Infirmary (Anomaly). This page still documents the UPD 2 class systems that remain live — nine classes, Shards shop, and the UPD2 code. For the title rename and current branding snapshot, read UPD 3 and July 27 status.
UPD 2 is the major class update for Night At The Infirmary by A.D. Games. As of July 27, 2026 the game sits near 17 million visits, 207K favorites, and roughly 8.1K concurrent players during peak windows on place ID 101610294550592. The Roblox title flipped to UPD 3 on July 27 — see July 27 status for the latest traffic snapshot.
The headline feature is a full class system paid with Shards — passive perks for Sanity, wheelchair speed, operating speed, registering speed, and exorcism performance. Pair this page with the classes guide, the Sanity system guide, Skinwalkers, and the codes page for the active UPD2 drop (250 Shards).
UPD 1 still matters as the foundation (three-layer inspection and shutter reject). UPD 2 builds the ward economy and perk layer on top. Browse the parent updates hub for the full patch timeline.
Class System Overview
Nine classes span Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary rarities. Open the Classes menu in the lobby before you enter the portal. Select a class, then pay with Shards — Legendary options can also take Robux when stocked.
Every purchase starts at Level 1. Play with the class equipped to earn Class EXP and raise it to Level 2, then Level 3. Higher levels strengthen the same perk family rather than adding unrelated tools.
The class shop restocks every 24 hours. Rarity controls stock chance: Commons and Rares appear often; Legendaries (Plague Doctor, Exorcist) may not appear for days. Buy a Legendary the moment it shows. Full perk tables live on classes.
Class Roster and Pricing
- Rookie — Common · 250 Shards · starting Sanity bump
- Ward Assistant — Common · 400 Shards · team operating speed (whole team)
- Receptionist — Rare · 750 Shards · wheelchair + registering speed
- Surgeon — Rare · 1000 Shards · wheelchair + operating speed (best early buy)
- The Survivor — Epic · 1500 Shards · walkspeed + Sanity drain reduction
- Head Doctor — Epic · 2500 Shards · high starting Sanity + treat gain
- Therapist — Epic · cost TBA · team Sanity gain / drain (whole team)
- Plague Doctor — Legendary · 6000 Shards or 360 Robux · best solo kit
- Exorcist — Legendary · cost TBA · exorcism speed and post-exorcism mobility
Surgeon is the strongest affordable starter. Plague Doctor is the top solo pick when it rotates into stock. Squads should coordinate Ward Assistant and Therapist for shared buffs — classes cannot be gifted.
Shards Economy and Codes
Shards come from treating patients correctly and surviving nights. Spend them on classes in the rotating shop. The verified July 2026 promo code is UPD2 for 250 Shards (older lists said 20 — redeem on a fresh server if the reward looks wrong).
Redeem path: launch the game → open Shop → Codes tab → paste exactly → Enter. Codes are case-sensitive and one-use per account. Join a fresh server if redemption fails on an outdated instance. Expired strings include UPD1 and RELEASE. Full status and troubleshooting: codes.
Gameplay Loop Under UPD 2
UPD 2 deepens the ward side of the shift without deleting the reception skill set. Expect wheelchair movement between beds, timed operations, heart-monitor BPM checks, temperature reads near the 36–37°C band, and the Wooden Crucifix when an admitted patient reveals as an Anomaly mid-care.
Sanity still decides whether you finish the night. Treating and cleaning recover Sanity; jumpscares and drained meters punish slow ops. Class perks accelerate the recovery loop — see Sanity system and survive shifts.
Keep rejecting obvious imposters at the desk with the three-layer habit documented on detect anomalies. When something slips inside, switch to crucifix workflow from beat anomalies and the anomalies hub.
What to Do First on UPD 2
- Redeem
UPD2on the codes page path for 250 Shards. - Buy Surgeon when it appears (1000 Shards) if you are still on Rookie.
- Solo grinders: watch the daily timer for Plague Doctor.
- Squads: one player on Ward Assistant or Therapist for team speed/Sanity.
- Re-read beginner and first night if you left during UPD 1 — desk flow still matters.
What Changed From UPD 1
UPD 1 shipped the beta core: window, photo, CCTV, shutter reject, and early tell families. Mid-July July 11 hotfix and July 14 build pages document the viral-wave live tuning before the numbered class update.
UPD 2 adds the Shard shop, nine classes with Level 1–3 progression, Robux Legendary options, stronger ward operations, and the first verified public code tied to the update name. Tell catalogs and walkthrough routes remain valid — class perks change how fast you recover, not which symptoms count as Anomalies.
Verified YouTube pacing clips remain on the videos hub; the embed above is useful for desk and ward tone after the class launch.

Frequently Asked Questions
What did UPD 2 add to Night At The Infirmary?
UPD 2 added the class system, Shards currency, a 24-hour rotating class shop, Level 1–3 Class EXP progression, Legendary Robux purchases, and the UPD2 promo code for 250 Shards.
What is the best class in UPD 2?
Surgeon is the best early Shard buy. Plague Doctor is the strongest solo Legendary when stocked. Ward Assistant and Therapist shine in squads via team-wide perks.
How do I earn Shards?
Treat patients correctly and survive nights. Redeem the UPD2 code for 250 Shards, then spend Shards in the Classes shop before entering the portal.
Why is my class missing from the shop?
Stock rotates every 24 hours. Legendary classes have a very low appearance rate — wait for the daily reset and buy immediately when they appear.
Can I gift a class to a friend?
No. Each player must purchase their own class. Coordinate team-perk classes before the shift starts.
Is UPD 1 content still useful?
Yes. Three-layer detection, shutter reject, and anomaly tell pages still apply. UPD 2 adds classes and ward economy on top of that foundation.
